  • Overview

    Establish and promote maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards in compliance with OSHA and CAL-OSHA regulations.

    Ensure corporate environmental, health and safety programs are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

    Analyzes loss control data and submit results and recommended corrective actions to senior management.

    Manage corporate Workers' Compensation and Loss Control program through effective claim management and work practices.

    Support internal customer audits.

    Develop and administer 20-plus OSHA EH&S programs.

    Develop and deliver a variety of training modules to support regulatory and corporate requirements.

    Assist with crisis management efforts and activities during an emergency event.

    Assure that all safety and security personnel are performing their assigned job duties.

    Oversee and manages security and safety staff.

    Review Daily Security Incident Reports and address open security issues.

    Work with local Fire and Police Departments to ensure the safety of all individuals on the premises.

    Interpret the Collective bargaining Agreement in providing feedback to employees with questions concerning seniority entitlements and related matters.

     

    Responsibilities

    Environmental, Health & Safety Administration:

    Perform annual review of all health & safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and reflects current company policies and practices, complements management responsibilities, and incorporates and applicable changes that have occurred.

    Ensure that all OSHA record injuries are properly recorded and tracked.

    Conform to all OSHA and CAL-OSHA regulations.

    Coordinate hazardous materials activities with other departments to ensure that Safety Data Sheets are kept current.

    Develop safety committee meeting topics.

    Manage safety committee meetings.

    Oversee and manage safety staff to ensure that department and corporate milestones are being achieved.

    Act as Company liaison for all OSHA and CAL-OSHA investigations.

    Develops health & safety training modules.

    Publish periodic reports representing safety performance.

    Ensure that the Modified Duty Program is being effectively utilized.

    Establish a positive working relationship with all occupational medicine providers.

    Ensure that health & safety training is being performed on a continuous basis to ensure that liability potential is minimized.

    Develop and administer new environmental, health & safety programs as required.

    Develop and maintain the RockDove smart phone emergency application.

     

     

    Workers' Compensation / Loss Control Administration:

    Ensure that the Modified Duty Program is being effectively utilized.

    Establish a positive working relationship with all occupational medicine providers.

    Collaborate with the Workers’ Compensation claims adjusters, nurses, lawyers, brokers, and attorneys to ensure that incurred expense is minimized.

    Coordinate worker compensation claim review meetings with all applicable parties.

    Work with the Director of Risk Management to ensure claims are properly managed.

    Develop and implement workers' compensation and loss control program elements as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor of Science college degree in a related field preferred.

     

    Experience:

    5 years of security and environmental, health and safety experience

     

    Skills, Certifications, etc.:

    Hazardous Material Management Certification.

    Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast pace environment.

    Must have good oral communication skills.

    Familiarity with employment laws, regulations, and statutes.

    Familiarity with OSHA and CAL-OSHA regulations.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
